network outage

yes we had another network outage today from about 9am to 2pm PDT.

(the usual story: ISP stopped responding to ping, reboot firewall, powercycle modem, wait a few minutes, then everything was happy again. No idea what actually failed.)

and yes this is more of a log-for-posterity post rather than something intended to be actually useful; sorry.
