Debian 9 and Street Repaving
So Debian 9 ("stretch") has been released. Since this has been out for about a month, and I'm not seeing the sun blotted out by plumes of smoke and ash or other signs of unsuccessful upgrades elsewhere, and I seem to have successfully upgraded a similarly configured VM with no apparent ill effects, I'm going to assume this one works and will be biting the bullet sometime tonight in the wee hours.
Also as a heads up, they're getting ready to repave our street, with possible resulting unintended consequences for one or more of the various utilities we depend on. Trucks have been moving about all day; I have not heard any jackhammers yet, but give it time (I'm guessing Monday).
